Marjan is a collaborative art exhibition by Etienne Farrell and Mark Mallia, held in the heart of Tarxien during the village’s traditional festa, dedicated to the Annunciation of Mary. The exhibition draws its title from the Maltese word Marjan, with direct reference to the Virgin Mary, whose life and symbolism form the central theme of the show. Through a series of mixed-media works, each of the artists explores various moments in the life of the Madonna, offering deeply personal and contemporary interpretations of this sacred figure. From maternal tenderness to silent sorrow, Marjan reimagines Mary not only as a religious icon but also as a universal symbol of strength, resilience, and grace.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of festa celebrations, this exhibition invited visitors to pause, reflect, and engage with a timeless story seen through fresh artistic eyes.
Only the work by Etienne Farrell is included here.
